Deflate-gate in the Minor Leagues

Having been through a prostrate biopsy myself this last December, I feel like I have a special affinity for this guy going through a prostate exam WHILE leading the singing of Take Me Out to the Ballgame at an MiLB game.

The same team the Myrtle Beach Pelicans have decided to honor “Deflategate, the New England Patriots AFC Championship Game scandal of underinflated balls, with a classic MiLB promotions night, this time to “Deflate Cancer.” with several ball related promotions including inflating balls that fans bring to the stadium to get blown up, which can then be donated to the local Boys & Girls Club. Inside there will be special deals on meatball sandwiches, roasted nuts, and discounted hot dogs as a part of “Weiner Wednesdays.”

The goal, of course, is to bring attention to Prostate Cancer and to “deflate cancer,” one of six different nights the team will have to focus on various types of cancer awareness.

MiLB is famous for its inventive and fun promotions. I think that you can add “Deflate Night” to the list of really good ones. What are some of your favorites?

Oh, they’ll also have specials on boiled nuts.

No thanks…
